Miscarriage of Justice

In 1961, George Jackson was given an indefinite sentence of one-year-to-life for stealing $71.00

Forty-three years later in 2004, Genarlow Wilson was sentenced to 10 years for having consensual oral sex with another teenager.

In 2006, 15 year old Shaquanda Cotton of Paris , TX, was sentenced to 7 years for pushing a hall monitor. Later that year, Sean Bell was killed in a hail of 50 bullets by the NYPD.

In 2007, Six young teenagers known as, The Jena 6, were nearly convicted to 22 years for a high school fight.

Across the country in Baltimore, 7-year old Gerard Mungo Jr. was violently snatched off his bicycle by a Baltimore cop and arrested for riding his bicycle on the sidewalk.

Is it just us or is the U.S. criminal justice system becoming more and more ludicrous? What’s behind these continually harsh attacks against this nation’s future? What will it take to hold rogue judges, vigilante D.A.s, and trigger-happy police officers accountable to the same legal standards as the rest of the country? Journey with us through Miscarriage of Justice as we explore some innovative ideas and possible solutions to these issues.
